Lessons and Clinics

Our encouraging and fun atmosphere allows riders individualized attention ensuring riding goals are met in a safe and positive environment.

U Bar Ranch offers the Equine Canada Western Rider Development program in a group setting for riders 12 years and older. Development of horsemanship skills is presented in a progressive learning situation. The program provides a systematic nationally recognized process for presenting the basics of good riding with a strong focus on the safety and well-being of both horse and rider. Completion of required competencies is tested and certificates issued (Rider levels 1-4). An accredited examiner will give an evaluation for each level issued through the Alberta Equestrian Federation.

Participants must either own their own horses for this program, or arrange for a U Bar horse on a partial lease basis. Well trained horses who have either shown or participated in multiple clinics are available.

Professionals (pros) are also brought to the ranch to offer instruction to intermediate and advanced riders who would like to improve their skills and learn from some of Alberta’s best. Disciplines include reining, barrel racing and horsemanship.
